Experience the awe-inspiring Great Ocean Road, voted one of the world’s best coastal tours. Immerse yourself in nature’s grandness, stunning landscapes, and coastal beauty as you embark on this unforgettable journey.

Voted one of the best coastal touring experiences in the world.

Fresh, Salty air fills you with adventure, Iconic landscapes loom and a sense of grandness, of freedom, sweeps in. The Great Ocean Road, where nature’s drama unfolds at every turn. A coastal sanctuary of contrasting natural beauty, where unexpected hinterland waterfall walks reveal dappled lush forests at the edge of lively salt-washed villages, and rugged oceanic splendour and raw seascapes draw you along with superb wines, fine dining and relaxed unwinding; fabulous flora, fauna and fantastic fun along the way.

Discover some of Australia’s most beautiful natural attractions, dramatic coastlines, ancient rainforests, and abundant local wildlife in the Great Ocean Road region.

Discover the tragic shipwreck history of Victoria’s Southern Ocean coast of the Great Ocean Road. This treacherous section of the coast, named the Shipwreck Coast, has claimed more than 180 ships in its colourful Maritime Heritage. Learn about the tragedy of the Loch Ard Shipwreck near Port Campbell in 1878, one of the most infamous of Victoria’s shipwrecks. See the dramatic rock sculptures of the 12 Apostles and the many viewing points along the Great Ocean Road affording spectacular vistas of the Southern Ocean, and watch Southern Right Whales from the shoreline in season.

The Great Otway National Park stretches along the coast from Torquay; the Park features rugged coastlines, sandy beaches, rock platforms and windswept heathland. In the north, the Park features tall forests, ferny gullies, magnificent waterfalls, and tranquil lakes. Immerse yourself in some of Australia’s best cool temperate rainforest scenery, walk amongst tall trees, ancient plant life and giant tree ferns, and experience the full beauty of the rainforest on the Otway Fly Tree Top Walk.

The Tree Top Walk the longest and the tallest elevated walk of its kind in the world, at 600 metres long and 30 metres above ground level. A spiral stairway ascends a 45-metre-high lookout to emerge amongst the crowns of the giants of the forest, the Mountain Ash tree, Australia’s tallest tree. Discover high waterfalls in the Great Otway National Park’s narrow valleys, ranging from the impressive Triplet Falls ( in season). This magnificent waterfall has 3 broad cascades set in a ferny rainforest of stately Myrtle Beech trees.

Stop off along the road to the Cape Otway Lightstation to see koalas in the wild; the best viewing in the late afternoon to see them more active, eating leaves, grooming or seeking new food trees, as they sleep throughout most of the day.

Take in spectacular views from the top of mainland Australia’s oldest lighthouse, the Cape Otway Lightstation, 90 metres above the wild Southern Ocean; this Lighthouse guided sailing ships bound for Port Phillip through the narrow entrance to Bass Strait, which the old mariners referred to as the Eye of the Needle.

The Great Ocean Road, officially starting at Torquay, was built by ex-World War 1 soldiers to memorialise their fallen colleagues. The section of the Great Ocean Road from Torquay to Apollo Bay is known as the Surf Coast. Along the way are iconic surf beaches, most famously Torquay and nearby Bells Beach, home to the Rip Curl Pro professional surfing event. Through Anglesea, Aireys Inlet, Lorne, Wye River, Kennett River and Apollo Bay, there are many surf beaches to encounter.
