Victorian Spa Region

Sensual, spirited and effortlessly stylish Daylesford is the jewel in the crown of the Spa Region

This sightseeing tour lets you discover Daylesford & Hepburn Springs, the tour takes in the iconic places of each town, visiting heritage / historic buildings / botanical gardens / art galleries and locations of the 1850’s goldrush & mineral springs reserves.

Your tour starts with a guided walk down Daylesford’s main thoroughfare, Vincent Street, which is full of heritage buildings, eclectic shops, antiques shops, clothes shops and art galleries as well as lots of foodie places to eat.

On completion of the walk, we drive to a lookout overlooking Lake Daylesford, then down to the lake for morning tea. A walk is taken on the shores of the lake to take in the lake views and also to taste mineral water from the springs.

The next lake you visit is Lake Jubilee, where you have short walk to view the lake and the water birds.

Next we visit the first of our Art Galleries, this one being the Stoney Creek Gallery, where you may be lucky enough to get a glass of champagne.

On returning to Daylesford, our next stop is Cornish Hill to learn about the Gold rush history of the region and its impact to Daylesford. You also get a great view of Daylesford as well.

If Bromley & Co Art Gallery is open, you can wander amongst his art collection of paintings and sculptures.

Next is the Botanical Gardens at Wombat Hill to see the gardens, tree’s and views of the region. As you drive back into the centre of Daylesford, we stop at the many churches to learn of their history.

Next stop is to the largest of the Art Galleries, and this one is Convent Gallery, which during its history use to belong to the Catholic Church.

You have a visit to the Railway Station, which over the many years the railways was the main connection to Melbourne. Today the Railway Station and railway is an operating rail museum.

The tour finishes in Daylesford’s twin spa town is Hepburn Springs; this serene little village is famous for the boutique accommodation, excellent restaurants, the Hepburn Bathhouse and Spa, Swiss/Italian immigrant history, Lavendula Swiss/Italian farm and the iconic Mineral Springs reserve.
